It is so exciting when someone who we do business with decides to do business with us too! I first learned of House of Colour from Chelsea Owens. We worked together in education and I learned of her business and all about color analysis. I was hesitant (mainly because I didn’t see many women of color in my research), but decided to take the leap. And I’m so glad I did.

Color Analysis

The color analysis uses principles of color science to determine your best color palette. Chelsea draped me in a series of colors to determine whether I looked best in warm or cool colors, and then narrowed it down to a specific season. It was amazing to see how with certain colors, my eyes appeared brighter, cheek bones more defined, and complexion clearer.

Once we identified my season, we rated the colors that look best on me and these are my WOW colors. (You can even see me in my WOW colors on the HOC website!) I’m a summer. If summer colors are described in words, they would be soft, blue, smoky, rose.

Style Analysis

After completing the color analysis, I found myself buying clothes only because they were in my season. I wasn’t making purchases because I actually loved the clothing items. I wound up with lots of clothes in the right color, but not necessarily my style. This got me interested in another service offered by House of Colour, the style analysis.

Since Chelsea wasn’t offering style just yet, I got to work with Merideth Waltman. Merideth took my measurements, gathered information on my lifestyle and personality, and even had me bring in items from my closet that I loved and loathed. The style analysis process helped me determine the right neck lines, hem lengths, pattern styles, jewelry sizes, purse shapes, and so much more. This was the missing piece of my closet puzzle.

So, considering how these two services changed my wardrobe, I was so excited to learn that Merideth and Chelsea were teaming up and needed branding photos to announce their partnership!

House of Colour Branding Photos

When approaching a branding photo session, we start with an in-depth consultation to learn about the client and their business. Lucky for us, I already had in-depth knowledge about the business because I was a client. So we focused our consultation on the purpose of the photos i.e. upcoming promotions and using the photos in branding and marketing efforts.
